Rat Interleukin 1 Alpha ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Interleukin 1 Alpha (IL-1 alpha) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and produces a colorimetric signal measured at 450 nm on a microplate reader.

Based on sandwich enzyme immunoassay principles, the assay uses an antibody specific for IL-1 alpha pre-coated onto the plate. Standards and samples are added, followed by washing and incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-IL-1 alpha Antibody. HRP-Avidin conjugate is then added, and TMB substrate produces a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The yellow colour density, proportional to the amount of IL-1 alpha captured, is read against a standard curve to calculate concentration.
