Rat Interferon Alpha ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Interferon alpha 1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate platform and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader measuring absorbance at 450nm.

The assay employs a biotinylated anti-Interferon alpha 1 detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate with TMB substrate, producing a yellow product whose intensity is proportional to Interferon alpha 1 concentration in the sample. Sensitivity is reported at <5.5 pg/ml, with a standard curve range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes, and components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The kit should not be used past its expiration date.

In spike-and-recovery testing, average recovery was 91% for serum (range 80-102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (81-100%, n=5), and 84% for heparin plasma (80-89%, n=5). Dilutional linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions ranged from 74-107% for serum, 79-108% for EDTA plasma, and 82-105% for heparin plasma.
