This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Integrin alpha 2 in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate and a biotinylated anti-Integrin alpha 2 detection antibody combined with an HRP-avidin conjugate. Following incubation and washing, TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Integrin alpha 2 captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

Reported performance figures include an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.109 ng/ml, with the standard protocol completed in 4 h 30 m. Kit components are stored at +4 °C or −20 °C as instructed and should not be used past the expiration date.

Spike-and-recovery data supplied by the manufacturer covers serum (range 80%–102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (81%–100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (80%–89%, average 84%, n=5), with linearity evaluated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions for each matrix.
