Rat Insulin Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 5 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Insulin Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 5 (IGFBP5) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and follows a sandwich enzyme immunoassay protocol: samples are incubated with an immobilised anti-IGFBP5 antibody, then a Biotinylated Anti-IGFBP5 Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate are added sequentially.

Detection is colourimetric, with TMB substrate producing a blue product that turns yellow after addition of stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration of IGFBP5 is calculated from the standard curve.

The assay reports a range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, a sensitivity of <7.2 pg/ml and a total run time of 4h 30m, with kit components stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. Recovery was assessed with n=5 across serum (80%-102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (81%-101%, average 91%) and heparin plasma (80%-89%, average 84%), and sample dilution linearity was tested from 1:2 to 1:16.
