From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Insulin Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 2 (IGFBP2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The microtiter plate is pre-coated with an antibody specific for IGFBP2. Standards and samples are added and IGFBP2 is captured by the immobilised antibody; following incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-IGFBP2 antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, with the concentration of IGFBP2 calculated by referring to the standard curve. The assay has a reported sensitivity of 1.34 ng/ml, a quantitative range of 3.12-200 ng/ml and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Validation data from the manufacturer describe recovery and dilution linearity for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
