Rat Insulin ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com enables quantitative measurement of rat insulin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate in a 12 x 8 well strip format, with results read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader.

With a product range of 140-9000 pg/ml and sensitivity of <37.3 pg/ml, the assay is completed in approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. The sandwich immunoassay format employs biotinylated anti-insulin antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate, with TMB substrate producing a yellow colour whose intensity is proportional to insulin concentration.

Spike-and-recovery validation showed 80-102% (average 91%) in serum (n=5), 81-100% (average 90%) in EDTA plasma (n=5) and 80-89% (average 84%) in heparin plasma (n=5). Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
