Rat IL13 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat IL-13 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. The 4-hour colorimetric assay uses a pre-coated microplate with absorbance read at 450 nm.

Standards and samples bind to a specific capture antibody immobilised on the plate; after washing, a biotinylated detection antibody specific for IL-13 is added to form an antibody–antigen–antibody sandwich. Following further incubation and washing, HRP-Streptavidin conjugate and TMB substrate are added, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is directly proportional to the IL-13 concentration captured in each well.

Sensitivity is reported as < 1 pg/ml and < 9.375 pg/mL. The assay range is quoted as 15.6–1000 pg/ml and 15.625–1000 pg/mL. The kit is specific for IL-13 with no reported cross-reactivity with other analogs or variants. Storage is at +4°C on receipt, with components stored at +4°C or −20°C per the Protocol Manual; the kit should not be used past its expiration date and freeze/thaw cycles should be avoided. The kit is suitable for serum and plasma.
