Rat IGFBP-5 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit, supplied by Antibodies.com, is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat IGFBP-5 in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with rat samples and uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with an antibody specific for IGFBP-5 pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. After addition of standards and samples, captured IGFBP-5 is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-IGFBP-5 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is added; catalysis produces a blue product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution, and the absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.

The quoted assay range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml and the sensitivity is 7.2 pg/ml. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery values are 80–102% (average 91%, n=5) in serum, 81–101% (average 91%, n=5) in EDTA plasma and 80–89% (average 84%, n=5) in heparin plasma. Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 has been measured at 87–107% for serum, 79–108% for EDTA plasma and 82–105% for heparin plasma (each n=5). Kit contents include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, 30X Wash Buffer, Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution and plate sealers. Components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed.
