The assay uses a sandwich enzyme immunoassay format on a pre-coated microplate with a colorimetric readout measured at 450 nm.

Detection range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.058 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m. The capture reagent is a mouse IgG antibody raised against a synthetic peptide. In spiked recovery testing, average recoveries were 91% in serum, 90% in EDTA plasma and 84% in heparin plasma.
