Rat Heparan Sulfate Proteoglycan ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Syndecan 2/HSPG in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with antibody specific for Syndecan 2/HSPG, with standards and samples added to the wells. A biotinylated anti-Syndecan 2/HSPG detection antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue product that turns yellow on addition of stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

The assay has a stated sensitivity of <0.07 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml. The total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported mean recoveries in serum are 91% (range 80–102%, n=5), in EDTA plasma 90% (range 81–100%, n=5), and in heparin plasma 84% (range 80–89%, n=5). Across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, recovery falls within 74–108% for the three sample types.
