Rat Hemojuvelin ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com offers a sandwich ELISA kit for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Hemojuvelin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) bearing an antibody specific for Hemojuvelin. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by Biotinylated Anti-Hemojuvelin Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader is proportional to Hemojuvelin concentration and is quantified against a standard curve. The reported assay range is 62.5-4000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 23.5 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m.

Kit contents comprise 2 vials of lyophilised standard, 120μl Detection Solution A, 120µl Detection Solution B, 20ml Wash Buffer (30X), 45ml Sample Dilution Buffer, 9ml TMB Substrate, 6ml Stop Solution and 5 adhesive plate sealers. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.

Reported recovery values are 80%-102% for serum (average 91%, n=5), 81%-100% for EDTA plasma (average 90%, n=5) and 80%-89% for heparin plasma (average 84%, n=5). Dilution linearity is reported at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.
