A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Heat Shock 60kD Protein 1 (HSP60), also known as Chaperonin, in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Detection is colorimetric, with the enzymatic reaction read at 450 nm in a microplate reader, and total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. The stated product range is 3.12–200 ng/ml, with a sensitivity of <1.27 ng/ml.

Spike-and-recovery performance has been characterised across three sample matrices. In serum (n=5), average recovery is 91% across a range of 80%–102%. In EDTA plasma (n=5), average recovery is 90% across a range of 81%–100%. In heparin plasma (n=5), average recovery is 84% across a range of 80%–89%. Dilution linearity has also been examined at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum recoveries of 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% respectively; EDTA plasma recoveries of 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108%; and heparin plasma recoveries of 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91%. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
