Rat Growth Hormone ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, the Rat Growth Hormone ELISA Kit is a 4-hour sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Growth Hormone in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids.

A 96-well microtiter plate is pre-coated with an antibody specific for Growth Hormone. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, where the analyte binds the immobilised capture antibody. After washing to remove unbound material, a biotinylated detection antibody is added to form an antibody–antigen–antibody sandwich complex. Following further incubation and washing, an HRP-Streptavidin conjugate and TMB substrate are introduced; the enzymatic reaction produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and is directly proportional to the amount of Growth Hormone captured, with the concentration calculated against the standard curve.

The assay covers a product range of 9.375–600 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 5.625 pg/mL and is reported to be specific for Growth Hormone, with no cross-reactivity with other analogs or variants. Kit contents include a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 × 8 well strips), lyophilised standard, sample dilution buffer, biotinylated detection antibody, antibody dilution buffer, HRP-Streptavidin conjugate, SABC dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution, 25× wash buffer, plate sealers, and a foil zip-sealed pouch. Components are shipped at +4 °C and should be stored at +4 °C or −20 °C as detailed in the Protocol Manual.
