The kit uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with a BMP9-specific capture antibody; standards and samples are added, captured BMP9 is detected with a biotinylated anti-BMP9 antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, producing a yellow product whose absorbance is read at 450 nm and is proportional to the amount of BMP9 present. The product range is 0.312–20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.126 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components should be stored at +4 °C or -20 °C as instructed in the protocol and not used past the expiration date.
