Rat Gastrin ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com under their Assays and Kits range, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay enables the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Gastrin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The kit employs a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) onto which Gastrin antigen has been immobilised. During incubation, Gastrin present in samples or standards competes with the fixed antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Gastrin Antibody. After washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added, followed by TMB substrate solution; the resulting colour change is read at 450nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, with absorbance inversely proportional to the Gastrin concentration of the sample.

The product range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml and the reported sensitivity is <4.63 pg/ml. Total assay time is 2h 30m. Recovery has been validated across serum (range 80–102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (81–99%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (80–89%, average 84%, n=5). Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
