From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Gastric Inhibitory Polypeptide (GIP) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate and uses a biotinylated anti-GIP antibody with an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, producing a yellow colour proportional to GIP concentration that is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.
Reported sensitivity is <27.5 pg/ml and the working assay range is 78.1–5000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery data are provided for serum (range 80–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (81–100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (80–89%, average 84%), together with dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. The kit includes a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips), lyophilized standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer (30X), sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, with storage between +4°C and -20°C depending on the component. GIP is also known by the synonyms gastric inhibitory polypeptide, glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide and incretin hormone.
