Rat Galectin 4 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this assay kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Galectin 4 (GAL4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated microplate platform (12 x 8 well strips) onto which an antibody specific for Galectin 4 has been immobilised. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where Galectin 4 is captured, then detected using a biotinylated anti-GAL4 antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added and the enzymatic reaction is stopped with an acidic stop solution; the resulting colour change is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration calculated by reference to the standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.

Performance figures supplied by the manufacturer include a standard curve range of 0.156-10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.048 ng/ml. Reported spike-and-recovery values across serum (n=5), EDTA plasma (n=5) and heparin plasma (n=5) fall within ranges of 80%-102% (mean 91%), 81%-100% (mean 90%) and 80%-89% (mean 84%), respectively. Dilution linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across the same sample types.
