Rat Galectin 3 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Galectin 3 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay employs a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Galectin 3, and offers a working range of 1.56–100 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.34 ng/ml.

Standards and samples are added to the wells, where Galectin 3 binds to the immobilized capture antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Galectin 3 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of Galectin 3 captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading the absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

The total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes, and the kit is intended for research use only. Storage conditions require keeping components at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and reagents should not be used past the expiration date.
