Description

Manufactured for Antibodies.com, this Rat Galectin 1 ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Galectin 1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for Galectin 1 that has been pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Galectin 1 Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The concentration of Galectin 1 is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The kit covers a product range of 0.625–40 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.246 ng/ml. Recovery has been demonstrated in serum (n=5, average 91%, range 80%–102%), EDTA plasma (n=5, average 90%, range 81%–100%) and heparin plasma (n=5, average 84%, range 80%–89%). Dilution linearity has been shown at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the same matrices. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes, with detection on a colorimetric microplate reader and components stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.

Kit contents include a pre-coated 96-well microplate in a 12 x 8 well strip format, two vials of lyophilised standard, Detection Solution A (120 µl) and Detection Solution B (120 µl), Wash Buffer 30X (20 ml), Sample Dilution Buffer (45 ml), TMB Substrate (9 ml), Stop Solution (6 ml) and five adhesive plate sealers. The kit is listed under the Antibodies.com Assays and Kits category and is reactive with rat samples.
