Rat Fibrinogen Like Protein 2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Fibrinogen Like Protein 2 (FGL2/Prothrombinase) in plasma samples. The kit is reactive with rat and is run on a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate with an antibody specific for FGL2/Prothrombinase. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where any FGL2/Prothrombinase present is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-FGL2/Prothrombinase Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution is then used to visualize the reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration is calculated from the standard curve. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Performance specifications include an assay range of 0.781-50 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.25 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery (n=5) was 80%-102% (average 91%) for serum, 81%-100% (average 90%) for EDTA plasma, and 80%-89% (average 84%) for heparin plasma. Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions showed recoveries ranging from 74% to 108% across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (n=5).
