Rat Fibrinogen Alpha ELISA Kit

The assay is performed on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, using a biotinylated anti-Fibrinogen Alpha detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm and is proportional to Fibrinogen Alpha concentration.

The assay is intended for plasma samples and is reported to have an assay range of 1.56-100 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.57 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Component storage conditions are +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol. Reported average recovery is 90% (range 81%-100%, n=5) in EDTA plasma and 84% (range 80%-89%, n=5) in heparin plasma.
