Rat Fibrillin 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Fibrillin 1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. It is a quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay using a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, and is intended for use with a colorimetric microplate reader. The protein target is also known by the synonyms FBN, FBN1 and Fibrillin-1.

The assay uses a biotinylated anti-Fibrillin 1 detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate, with TMB substrate producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm and the Fibrillin 1 concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m, and kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The kit must not be used past its expiration date.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of <0.107 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312-20 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery across 5 samples gave averages of 91% (serum, range 80-102%), 90% (EDTA plasma, range 81-100%) and 84% (heparin plasma, range 80-89%). Dilution linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
