Rat Ferroportin ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Ferroportin (SLC40A1) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate and an antibody specific for SLC40A1, with detection via a biotinylated anti-SLC40A1 antibody, HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The reaction is read colorimetrically at 450 nm in a microplate reader, and the density of the yellow product is proportional to the amount of SLC40A1 captured in each well.

The assay has a stated range of 0.312-20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.108 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Reported average recovery from serum (n=5) is 91% with a range of 80% - 102%; from EDTA plasma (n=5) is 90% with a range of 81% - 100%; and from heparin plasma (n=5) is 84% with a range of 80% - 89%. Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions is reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.

Supplied kit components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips), lyophilised standard, Detection Solutions A and B, Wash Buffer (30X), Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution and plate sealers. Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
