Rat Ferrochelatase ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) supplied by Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat ferrochelatase (FECH) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with an antibody specific for FECH pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where FECH is captured by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-FECH Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of the stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450nm using a colorimetric microplate reader, and FECH concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is 0.054 ng/ml, with an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples (n=5), with reported ranges of 80%–102%, 81%–100%, and 80%–89%, respectively. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
