Rat Fatty Acid Binding Protein 4, Adipocyte ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat FABP4 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for FABP4. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, followed by Biotinylated Anti-FABP4 Antibody, then HRP-Avidin conjugate. After incubation and washing, TMB substrate solution is added, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow colour, read as O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, is proportional to the amount of FABP4 captured in each well.

The kit operates across a product range of 3.12-200 ng/ml, with a sensitivity of <0.86 ng/ml and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. The platform is a pre-coated microplate formatted as 12 x 8 well strips, and detection is colourmetric. Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
