Rat Estrogen Receptor Alpha ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Estrogen Receptor alpha in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) with an immobilised antibody specific for Estrogen Receptor alpha. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a biotinylated anti-Estrogen Receptor alpha detection antibody and HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, and absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit reports a quantitative range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.117 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery validation (n=5) yielded ranges of 80%–102% (average 91%) for serum, 81%–100% (average 90%) for EDTA plasma, and 80%–89% (average 84%) for heparin plasma. Sample dilution linearity (n=5) at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 produced recoveries of 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% for serum; 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108% for EDTA plasma; and 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91% for heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
