Rat Estrogen ELISA Kit

A competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Estrogen in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. The assay is built around a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and uses a colorimetric readout measured at 450 nm on a standard microplate reader.

During the run, Estrogen present in standards or samples competes with Estrogen immobilised on the plate for binding to a biotinylated anti-Estrogen antibody. After washing, an HRP-Streptavidin conjugate is added, followed by TMB substrate; the resulting colour intensity is read at 450 nm after the addition of acidic stop solution, and Estrogen concentration is determined by comparison with the standard curve. Total assay time is 2 hours.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the kit has a working range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL, and is reported as specific for Estrogen with no cross-reactivity with other analogs or variants. Validation data supplied with the product show recovery from serum (n=10) averaging 96% (range 93–102%), from EDTA plasma 97% (range 91–105%) and from heparin plasma 93% (range 85–101%); linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions spanned 85–98% in serum, 82–101% in EDTA plasma and 81–99% in heparin plasma.
