Rat Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit is supplied as a pre-coated microplate and is intended for use on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Standards and test samples are added to the antibody-coated wells, where EGFR present in each sample is captured by the immobilized antibody. After incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-EGFR Antibody is added and binds the captured EGFR, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and a further incubation step. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction; the resulting blue product turns yellow on addition of the acidic stop solution, and the intensity of yellow is proportional to the EGFR concentration in each well. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration is calculated against the standard curve.

The assay delivers a sensitivity of 0.125 ng/ml across a quantitative range of 0.312–20 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery has been validated across serum (average 91%), EDTA plasma (average 90%) and heparin plasma (average 84%) samples. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
