Rat Endothelin 2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Endothelin 2/ET-2 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) on which an antibody specific for Endothelin 2/ET-2 is immobilised; standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Endothelin 2/ET-2 Antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, with the colour change read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The assay has a standard curve range of 7.81–500 pg/ml, a sensitivity of <2.96 pg/ml, and a total assay time of 4h 30m.

Spike-and-recovery performance in serum (n=5) ranged from 80% to 102% (average 91%), in EDTA plasma (n=5) from 81% to 100% (average 90%), and in heparin plasma (n=5) from 80% to 89% (average 84%). Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 was 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% for serum; 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108% for EDTA plasma; and 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91% for heparin plasma. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and should not be used past the expiration date.
