Rat Elastin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Elastin in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The kit uses an antibody specific for Elastin pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are added to the wells, and captured Elastin is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-Elastin Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution, and absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colourimetric microplate reader.

Reported sensitivity is <12.7 pg/ml, with an assay range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml. Detection is colourimetric on a pre-coated microplate platform, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. The kit is suitable for serum and plasma samples and should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, with components not to be used past the expiration date.

In validation data provided, neat-sample recovery averaged 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma, and 84% for heparin plasma (n=5 per matrix). Dilution linearity was demonstrated across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions, with serum recoveries of 74–107%, EDTA plasma recoveries of 79–108%, and heparin plasma recoveries of 82–105%.
