Rat Connective Tissue Growth Factor ELISA Kit

An ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Connective Tissue Growth Factor (CTGF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a sandwich ELISA format and is reactive with rat samples.

The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. A CTGF-specific antibody is pre-coated onto the microplate, and standards or test samples are added so that CTGF present in the sample is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-CTGF Antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the CTGF concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

According to the manufacturer, the kit has a product range of 6.25–400 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <2.46 pg/ml. Reported average recovery values from spiked samples are 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma and 84% for heparin plasma. The assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes, detection is colorimetric, and kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The assay should not be used past its expiration date.
