Rat Complement Component 5a ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Complement Component 5a (C5a) in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Complement C5a. Captured analyte is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-Complement C5a Antibody together with an HRP-Avidin conjugate; TMB substrate produces a yellow chromogen whose intensity is proportional to the analyte concentration and is read at 450 nm against a standard curve.

Working standards span an assay range of 1.56–100 ng/ml, with a sensitivity of 0.55 ng/ml. The full protocol takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes and is intended for use with a colorimetric microplate reader. Validation in spiked samples (n=5) reported recovery ranges of 83–100% (average 91%) for serum, 90–99% (average 94%) for EDTA plasma, and 91–101% (average 96%) for heparin plasma. Linearity was demonstrated across 1:2 to 1:16 sample dilutions for all three matrices (serum 80–108%, EDTA plasma 74–109%, heparin plasma 86–108%), and the kit is described as suitable for serum and plasma applications.
