Rat Collagen Type III Alpha 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative measurement of rat Collagen III in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay targets Collagen Type III Alpha 1 and is reactive with rat samples, employing a pre-coated 96-well microplate configured as 12 x 8 well strips. Detection is performed colorimetrically by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, with the concentration of Collagen III calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 0.277 ng/ml and a working range of 0.625–40 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. The protocol uses a Biotinylated Anti-Collagen III Antibody together with an HRP-Avidin conjugate, and the enzymatic reaction is visualised using a TMB substrate solution that produces a blue-coloured product changing to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. According to the manufacturer's validation data, recovery in serum samples (n=5) averaged 91% across a range of 80%–102%, EDTA plasma (n=5) averaged 91% across a range of 81%–101%, and heparin plasma (n=5) averaged 84% across a range of 80%–89%.

Dilution linearity has been demonstrated across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
