Rat Collagen Type II Alpha 1 ELISA Kit

Manufactured for Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Collagen II in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The procedure uses a pre-coated microtiter plate, where standards and samples bind to an immobilized antibody specific for Collagen II, followed by incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-Collagen II Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The reported assay range is 46.8–3000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 18.25 pg/ml, and the procedure takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Validation data quote average recovery of 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 91% for EDTA plasma (range 81–101%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%).
