Rat Ceruloplasmin ELISA Kit

The Antibodies.com Rat Ceruloplasmin ELISA Kit is a quantitative sandwich ELISA for the in vitro measurement of rat Ceruloplasmin in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 × 8 well strips). Standards and samples are added to wells where Ceruloplasmin binds to an immobilised capture antibody, followed by washing and addition of a biotinylated anti-Ceruloplasmin detection antibody. An HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate are then added; the reaction is stopped with acidic stop solution and absorbance is read at 450 nm. The intensity of the resulting yellow colour is proportional to the Ceruloplasmin concentration, calculated against the standard curve.

The assay has a measuring range of 6.25–400 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 2.44 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. The kit includes a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, detection reagents, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed in the protocol.

Reported mean recoveries are 91% (range 80–102%) for serum, 90% (range 81–99%) for EDTA plasma and 84% (range 80–89%) for heparin plasma. Dilution linearity has been demonstrated across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions for these sample types.
