Rat Catechol-O-Methyltransferase ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Catechol-O-Methyltransferase (COMT) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and a biotinylated anti-COMT antibody followed by HRP-avidin detection with TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The assay is quantitative and colorimetric, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes.

According to the manufacturer, the kit has an assay range of 1.56-100 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.55 ng/ml. Spike recovery in serum (n=5) ranged from 80%-102% with an average of 91%; in EDTA plasma (n=5) from 81%-100% with an average of 90%; and in heparin plasma (n=5) from 80%-89% with an average of 84%. Dilution linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 was reported as 87-91% to 92-97% for serum, 90-105% to 79-108% for EDTA plasma, and 84-95% to 89-91% for heparin plasma.

Kit components include lyophilized standard, detection solution A, detection solution B, 30X wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated on the component label.
