Rat Caspase 8 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Caspase-8 in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, or other biological fluids. Reactivity is rat-specific and detection is colorimetric, read on a standard microplate reader.

The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where Caspase-8 is captured by the immobilised antibody and then detected using a Biotinylated Anti-Caspase-8 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm and the concentration of Caspase-8 is calculated against the standard curve.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 0.053 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery testing (n=5) showed averages of 91% (range 80–102%) in serum, 90% (range 81–100%) in EDTA plasma, and 84% (range 80–89%) in heparin plasma.
