Rat Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase 2, Mitochondrial ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase 2, mitochondrial (CPT2) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. The assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique: an antibody specific for CPT2 is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate, standards and test samples are added, and captured CPT2 is detected with a Biotinylated Anti-CPT2 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after the acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the CPT2 concentration is calculated from the standard curve.

Key performance characteristics quoted from the manufacturer: assay range 0.156–10 ng/ml and sensitivity <0.062 ng/ml. Recovery has been validated in serum (80%–102%), EDTA plasma (81%–100%) and heparin plasma (80%–89%), and linearity has been demonstrated across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in each of these matrices. The kit is supplied on a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and the total assay time is 4 h 30 min. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product must not be used past its expiration date.
