Rat Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase 1A, Liver ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com supplies a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat CPT1A (Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase 1A, Liver) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit is configured on a pre-coated microplate platform and read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes.

An antibody specific for CPT1A is immobilised on the plate wells and captures CPT1A from standards and test samples. After washing, a biotinylated anti-CPT1A antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution; the resulting absorbance is proportional to the CPT1A captured in each well and is quantified against a standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is 0.107 ng/ml with a quantitative range of 0.312-20 ng/ml. Mean recovery from spiked samples is 91% in serum, 96% in EDTA plasma and 95% in heparin plasma. Kit components include a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer (30X), sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and adhesive plate sealers; components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
