Rat Carnitine Acetyltransferase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Carnitine Acetyltransferase in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. It is supplied as a pre-coated 96-well microplate and is read colourmetrically at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

The assay uses a biotinylated anti-Carnitine Acetyltransferase detection antibody together with an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added and the enzymatic reaction is stopped with an acidic solution, yielding a yellow product whose absorbance is proportional to the amount of Carnitine Acetyltransferase captured in each well. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Quoted performance figures include a standard curve range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.053 ng/ml. Reported recoveries in spiked samples (n=5) span 80–102% in serum (average 91%), 81–100% in EDTA plasma (average 90%) and 80–89% in heparin plasma (average 84%). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
