Rat Calcium/Calmodulin Dependent Protein Kinase II Gamma ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat CamKII gamma in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate format. An antibody specific for CamKII gamma is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added, followed by a biotinylated anti-CamKII gamma antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is used to visualise the reaction, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of CamKII gamma captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated from the O.D. absorbance read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.

The assay has a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.123 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Sample recovery was evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (n=5), with average recoveries of 91%, 94% and 94% respectively. Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across the same sample types. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
