Rat Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated microplate and the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. CGRP in samples or standards competes with the immobilised CGRP antigen on the plate for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-CGRP antibody; after washing, an HRP–avidin conjugate and TMB substrate are added, producing a colour change read at 450 nm on a colourmetric microplate reader. The resulting yellow intensity is inversely proportional to the CGRP concentration, which is then calculated against a standard curve. The working range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <4.86 pg/ml, and the complete protocol takes approximately 2 h 30 min.

Spike-and-recovery has been characterised as follows (n=5): serum 80–102%, average 91%; EDTA plasma 81–100%, average 90%; heparin plasma 80–89%, average 84%. Dilutional linearity has also been verified at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions in the same matrices. Kit components should be stored at +4 °C or –20 °C as instructed and not used past the stated expiry date.
