Rat Butyrylcholinesterase ELISA Kit

Supplied by Antibodies.com, this sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Butyrylcholinesterase in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with an antibody specific for Butyrylcholinesterase immobilised on the plate to capture the analyte from standards and test samples. After incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Butyrylcholinesterase Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a yellow-coloured product whose intensity is proportional to the amount of Butyrylcholinesterase captured. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of <0.44 ng/ml, an assay range of 1.56–100 ng/ml and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery values are documented for serum (n=5, range 80%–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81%–100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5, range 80%–89%, average 84%). Dilution linearity has been evaluated across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions in the same sample types. Components supplied include a pre-coated 96 well microplate, lyophilised standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, 30X Wash Buffer, Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution and plate sealers, which should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
