Rat Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the quantitative in vitro determination of rat Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) onto which an anti-BMP2 capture antibody has been immobilised. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a biotinylated anti-BMP2 detection antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate; the enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a yellow product whose intensity is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. Total assay time is 4h 30m.

Reported sensitivity is <25.7 pg/ml with a working range of 62.5–4000 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery across sample types (n=5) averaged 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Dilution linearity has been characterised at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum (87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%), EDTA plasma (90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%) and heparin plasma (84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%). Kit components are supplied for storage at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
