Rat B-Cell Activating Factor ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat BAFF in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. The assay targets rat B Cell Activating Factor (BAFF) and is run on a pre-coated 96-well microplate configured as 12 x 8 well strips, with detection performed on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm.

The workflow uses a biotinylated anti-BAFF detection antibody in combination with an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate; the enzymatic reaction yields a blue product that converts to yellow after the addition of stop solution, and absorbance is read at 450 nm against a standard curve. Reported sensitivity is <28 pg/ml with an assay range of 78.1-5000 pg/ml, and total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. Spiked recovery averaged 91% in serum (n=5; range 80%-102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (n=5; range 81%-100%) and 84% in heparin plasma (n=5; range 80%-89%).
