Rat Atrial Natriuretic Peptide ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Natriuretic Peptides A in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique using a pre-coated microplate. An antibody specific for Natriuretic Peptides A is immobilised on the plate; standards and test samples are added and the Natriuretic Peptides A present is bound by the immobilised antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Natriuretic Peptides A Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Natriuretic Peptides A captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader against the standard curve.

The standard product range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <6.3 pg/ml. The detection type is colorimetric, the platform is a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips), and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date. Reported spike-and-recovery values are 80%–102% (average 91%) for serum (n=5), 81%–100% (average 90%) for EDTA plasma (n=5) and 80%–89% (average 84%) for heparin plasma (n=5).
