Rat Aromatase ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Aromatase in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Aromatase. Standards and samples are added to the wells; following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Aromatase Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualize the reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow after addition of stop solution. The intensity of yellow, read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, is proportional to the amount of Aromatase captured in each well.

The reported assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.061 ng/ml. The platform is a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, and total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery in spiked samples averages 91% in serum (range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%) across n=5 samples. Reported dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions (n=5) is 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% for serum; 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108% for EDTA plasma; and 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91% for heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
