Manufactured by Antibodies.com, the Rat Apoptosis Inducing Factor (AIF) ELISA Kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat AIF in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids.
The assay employs a microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for AIF. Standards and samples are added to the wells, allowing AIF to bind to the immobilised capture antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-AIF detection antibody is introduced, followed by an HRP conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction yields a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; absorbance is measured at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, and AIF concentration is calculated against the standard curve.
The kit delivers a working range of 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of less than 0.061 ng/ml and, according to the manufacturer, no reported cross-reactivity with other analogs or variants. Total assay time is 4h 30m, and kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
