Rat Apolipoprotein E ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Apolipoprotein E in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where Apolipoprotein E is captured by an immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Apolipoprotein E Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of Apolipoprotein E captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader against the standard curve.

The reported product range is 3.12–200 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <1.15 ng/ml. The assay is read on a colorimetric microplate reader and runs for approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Validated recovery values are provided for serum (80%–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (81%–100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (80%–89%, average 84%), with dilution-linearity data across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions documented for the same sample types. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
