Rat Apolipoprotein A4 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this Rat Apolipoprotein A4 ELISA Kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Apolipoprotein A4 (APOA4/Apo-AIV) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses an antibody specific for APOA4/Apo-AIV pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-APOA4/Apo-AIV Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate produces a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, and the concentration of APOA4/Apo-AIV is calculated from the absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve. Detection is colorimetric and requires a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit has a stated sensitivity of <3.1 ng/ml and an assay range of 7.81–500 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Recovery has been validated in serum (n=5, range 80%–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81%–100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5, range 80%–89%, average 84%). Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions has been demonstrated for serum (87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%), EDTA plasma (90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%) and heparin plasma (84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
